The St. Petersburg Sailing Center was started in the mid-1970s under a joint operating agreement between the City of St. Petersburg and the St. Petersburg Yacht Club. The center offers low-cost access to sailing through a membership that is open to residents of Pinellas, Hillsborough, Pasco , Polk, Manatee and Sarasota counties, regardless of sex, race, residence or religious affiliation. There is age discrimination; you must be at least five years old.

Business hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM seven days a week during the summer months. August through May the Center is closed all day Monday.
