The Tampa Bay social scene would not be complete without the St. Petersburg Yacht Club. Major events, such as the New Year's Eve Gala and the Commodore's Ball are highlights of the social season. Less formal theme events, held regularly, as well as the monthly Birthday Bash, are generally sold-out due to their popularity with members.
Members enjoy their option of casual dining or formal dining, combined with relaxation of the SPYC Heritage Lounge. The ambiance combined with spectacular waterviews make dining a memorable occasion everytime!
As one of the founding members of the Florida Council of Yacht Clubs, our members have reciprocal privileges with over 35 yacht clubs around Florida. A particular benefit for those members visiting other Council clubs by boat is availability of a berth for the member's vessel, with the first night being complimentary. FCYC reciprocating members can charge to their home club.
Yachting activities are a major focus of the St. Petersburg Yacht Club. Over the years, many great regattas have been hosted by our club, including the SORC races and the St. Petersburg to Havana races which were started in the 1930s. The Regata del Sol al Sol, from St. Petersburg to Isla Mujeres, Mexico, has been running continously since 1968.
