Red White Blue
Because they sail on the same course, each Optimist skipper is assigned to an age group, called a fleet. These fleets are named red, blue, and white. White fleet is for skippers who are 10 or under on the opening day of the regatta. Blue fleet is for skippers who are 11 or 12. Red fleet is for skippers who are 13, 14, or 15. Sailors receive trophys according to how they finish in there respective age group.
