General Information About Booking an Event with the St. Petersburg Yacht Club:

If you are not a member, you must be sponsored by a member to host an event here. When a member sponsors an event, and is not directly involved with the planning, a room fee will be assessed, based on the room used and the time of day the event is held.   Members are responsible for the conduct of their guests, which also includes member sponsored functions. This includes compliance with the usual decorum relative to deportment and attire in and around the clubhouse. Casual Attire is the mode for all areas at the St. Petersburg Yacht Club, except in designated areas.

Deposit and Payment
A deposit will be required to ensure a banquet room on a definite basis for all banquet events. This deposit is applied towards the final balance of the individual event. Rendering of payment should be made at the same time that final guest counts are given. Form of payment should either be personal check, cashier’s check, money order, cash, or credit cards (Visa & MasterCard only). When a member sponsors an event, all charges of the event must be acknowledged with a signature at the end of the event, and the St. Petersburg Yacht Club will bill the total to the club member’s account.

Food and Beverage Policy
Due to fluctuating Food and Beverage Costs, menu prices may change without notice unless arrangements are confirmed by a signed Catering Contract. All events are subject to applicable service charges and current sales tax (++). Unconsumed portions of food may not be taken at the end of a function. No food or beverage of any kind may be brought into our facility by any member or any guests, with the exception of wedding cakes, to which a $2++/person cake-cutting fee will apply. Buffets are subject to a two (2) hour maximum time limit.

Menu Selections
Menu selections should be finalized no later than 30 days in advance, at which time prices are confirmed. Plated Entrée selections are restricted to one item only; a choice of 2 entrees is possible, for an additional fee of $2.00/per person. A maximum of 3 choices may be offered for an additional fee of $4.00/per person. When offering a choice of entrées, place cards for your guests must also be provided indicating entrée selection. Parties of up to 12 people will be allowed to order off the dining room menu; however an additional convenience fee will be assessed.

Guarantees are required for the number of persons attending your function by noon 4 days prior to your function date. This will be considered a guarantee for which you will be charged, not subject to reduction. However, we will be prepared to serve 3% more than the final guarantee to a maximum of 15, if the count increases the day of the event. If no guarantee is received, the expected number of guests on the Event Contract will be considered the final guarantee.

The St. Petersburg Yacht Club is the only licensee authorized to sell and serve alcoholic beverages on club property. Cash Bar prices include service charges, state tax & state excise tax. A cashier fee of $50.00 for 4 hours will be charged on all cash bars. If bar sales are under $150.00, a bartender fee of $60.00 will be assessed. The Yacht Club reserves the right to refuse service to any person who, in the Yacht Club’s sole judgment, is under the influence of alcohol.

Each Banquet room requires a food and beverage minimum that needs to be met or exceeded. Minimums are exclusive of the service charge and sales tax. In the event that your function is below the minimum, the difference will be applied as a room charge.

Service Charge and Tax
All prices listed are per person and subject to a service charge and current sales tax. If your group is tax exempt, a copy of the tax exemption certificate (DR-14 form) must be given to SPYC prior to the event & payment must be made by the group, not by an individual. Florida Law states that the service charge is subject to state sales tax.

Cancellation Policy
Cancellations and refunds will apply as follows: If the event is cancelled six months prior to the date, the deposit will be refunded in full if we rebook the space with a comparable function.
If the event is cancelled three~six months prior to the date, half of the deposit will be refunded if we rebook the space with a comparable function. If a cancellation occurs less than three months prior to the function, the deposit will be forfeited. Last minute cancellations and no-shows may be charged the standard room rental fee and a portion of expected food and beverage charges.

Rooms and Set Up
The Club will not permit the affixing of anything to the walls, floor, or ceiling of rooms with nails, staples, or any other substance potentially damaging to the surfaces. Seating will be round tables of 8 to 10 people each, unless otherwise requested. The Yacht Club does not permit the use of sparklers, birdseed, flower petals, confetti, or rice on the property. For excessive skirting (more than 5 tables) that you may need for tables, a charge of $ .75/ft. will be applied.

Early Set Up and Decorating
Any event requiring the room to be set up prior to three hours before the event start time will be subject to a $400.00 surcharge.

All banquet events are based on four hour duration. Events that extend beyond the scheduled time will be charged an overtime fee of $4.00 per person/per hour based on the guaranteed number of guests.

The Club will not assume responsibility for the damage to or loss of any merchandise, articles, or valuables left in the Club prior to, during, or following the function. Patron agrees to be responsible for any damage done to the premises during the period of time they are under his or her control or the control of any independent contractor hired by him or her. A nominal fee will be assessed and added to the billing.

Music, Entertainment & Other Vendors
In the event you have hired any vendors for your event (i.e. Band, DJ, Photographer, etc.), set up and breakdown time will be limited to two hours before the function and one hour after the function. Unless you host parking, the people you have hired will need to pay for their own parking in our garage, based on space availability. All vendors must enter through our loading dock area.

The St. Petersburg Yacht Club is a non-profit organization. In order to maintain this status, advertising is prohibited. This includes radio, television, newspapers, magazines, etc. The use of the Yacht Club's logo is prohibited. If announcements need to be made to groups of people, it should be done in invitation form only.

White Glove Service
If you would like to add that extra touch to your special event, there will be $100.00 fee for the evening.
